POSITION SUMMARY

Mochila, Inc. - the world’s leader in custom advertising and content solutions - is looking for an exceptionally talented, knowledgeable and motivated Director of Distribution to join our New York team. The three legs of Mochila's custom business solutions are content, distribution and advertising, all within the premium space.

We are currently seeking a Director of Distribution to work within the business development team. This position is a critical role on Mochila's senior management team, with strategy and revenue-generating responsibility.  Specifically, this Director will help shape Mochila's evolving distribution strategy, with a focus on publisher network building and relationship management, media buying and oversight of partnerships that enhance distribution targeting and performance.

This role is a new position within a dynamic growing company. The right individual will see the opportunity to contribute to overall company strategy and set up processes and organization within a new department. The ideal candidate will have experience in both traditional media/advertising models as well as digital publishing, preferably with a network publishing experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Revenue generating role reporting to CRO
  • Create and execute on strategy for Mochila’s distribution, growth and maintenance
  • Identify, target, and lead marketing and outreach efforts to key distribution partners for purposes of implementing Mochila products
  • Lead role in managing key distribution partner relationships on ongoing  basis for purpose of acquisition and  upsell
  • Distribution network maintenance - key data points and metrics
  • Responsible for buying media placements on distribution publisher network for premium campaigns
  • Generate lists for advertiser approval based on audience targets
  • Negotiate advertising deals with publishers including CPMs, for maximum profit to Mochila
  • Oversee campaign management/optimization in conjunction with other Mochila business development team members
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties to leverage distribution tools for maximum performance
  • Interface with product/project teams to develop products that enhance distribution performance
  • Advise CEO/CRO on industry standard best practices within area of expertise and work with other members of the Mochila senior managers for overall benefit of company

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3+ years experience and deep understanding of online networks, preferably in premium space
  • 5+ years online media  management/business development, or advertising sales
  • Solid  understanding of online ad operations and metrics
  • Expertise in /experience with online media planning/buying
  • Facility/ease with managing all aspects of publisher network relationships, including C-levels, business development teams, advertising sales, and ops
  • A collaborative work style that fosters overall team success
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
